Chapter 21
Oh my God, wait!
He shouldn’t be present. He wasn’t meant to stay around quite
now.
“Apologize, Winona!”
Throughout my thoughts, Benjamin’s words were still recognized speaking as a last recall of my previous memories played out.
“You know she’s carrying my pup.”
No, goddess, please no!! I didn’t feel prepared to see him again.
“As Alpha, I order you to stay here and think about what you’ve done!”
His downward–looking emerald eyes at me were icy and frightening.

“In the name of Alpha of the Lock Heart Pack,” I make several cautious motions backward, while keeping my gaze fixed at the person in the direction of my eyes.
“I announce you, Winona Granger, has been convicted of treason and sentenced to-”
“Winona?” a warm tone next to me shouted, waking me up. I, nevertheless, was unable to understand what he say.
I could only hear-

“…Death.”
I stumble down to the ground in presence of the man that is responsible for the cause of my death, that is going to end up being my murder,
“Kill her! Now!” I heard his voice coming through time and space.
Wait…No! Halt it immediately please!
The sensible part of my mind attempted to persuade me that it is all a dream, the noise was not anything further than a recollection within my mind.
It’s nothing…nothing…It’s not real! But please, please stop!!
My entire body started to tremble as I tried to get those images out of my head. Please…leave me alone.
“Winona?”
This is Benjamin’s speech. This tone cut past my psychic disarray sufficiently long for me to completely stiffen.
Nothing has changed, I knew it as I saw him. He would still be my death.
“W–what brought you here…” I succeed in muttering. I fail to figure out whether I am talking to him or to myself when I query it.
“You are aware that I am permitted to stay around because it is MY pack, aren’t you? I was called to return since there is a critical situation involving a young woman that suffered an assault. I just got here.”
Yet he scowled whilst I ignored him with no answer and no movements.

“You are aware, it’s disrespectful to behave in that way toward the upcoming Alpha, right?” he remarked, sounding annoyed.
Although he didn’t express it as a certain amount of resentment which I have grown to expect, his words nevertheless make me feel shivery.
“Winona, stand up now. You’re definitely making me seem bad in the face of a potential Alpha, part of our coalition.”
Although I was aware of the words he is stating, the only thing I watched is the sword which is going to go through my breast. The image keeps popping up in my head, making me shiver.
“Why are you continuing to totally disregard the things I am stating?” he continues, getting more and more frustrated.
I kept convincing my body to react but I am unable to regain any power no matter what I attempt. Like before, I am powerless in his
presence.
So hopeless…so pathetic.
I failed to change myself, even if I had another chance and another life. I have never altered. No matter how many times I return, Benjamin is destined to have power over my entire existence.
“Stop Winona, stand up now.” he orders.
I felt he used his Alpha power this time attempting to direct me, but I find myself unable to heed that.
As he notices that I continue to remain motionless, he finally gets temper and extend the palm in my direction. Yet around that time, my whole being finally began to respond.
I winced and turned my head aside, raising my arms toward

defense regarding the smack I anticipate receiving.
…Except that it’s not happened.

I risk myself to glance toward him when I notice that he is looking astonished by my reaction, even his extended arm suddenly halts mid–contact.
I notice the way his hand is set up, to my astonishment, indicating that he is trying to help me instead of hitting me. I am acting rashly despite the fact that I face no genuine risk of suffering harm.
“I believe it could possibly be better to refrain from approaching her as well as letting her be,” Bash suddenly intervened and remarked.
Oh It’s Bash. His voice helped me come back to the reality.
That is not the site of the prosecution. Barring an adequate explanation and evidence shown, Benjamin may be unable to assassinate me once more in the presence of a witness.
“What are you thinking? This girl is behaving such as a total idiot even I barely touched her.” Benjamin pointed straight to me, but I found myself incapable to resist the uncontrollable shudder as it completely rocked me. Seeing his fast motion approaching me had awakened an unconscious body reaction.
“From what I can see, she appears not to be particularly within the mood to be near you at this moment. It is absolutely normal considering that she has just recently recovered from a state of days unconsciousness.” Bash said.
Then he knelt lower and delicately stroked my shaky body. I wanted to stare towards him to find comfort beneath his gentle gaze, however I couldn’t get my eyes to turn away from Benjamin
at all. My instinctive response seemed to be afraid of the agony he may cause in any single moment.
“Leave her,” Benjamin hissed. “She is not yours.”
“Well, the updates said that she isn’t yours either. So, this girl is free now,” Bash said casually, apparently unfazed by Benjamin’s
behavior.
“In addition, you are aware your status as her mate is still not formally certified, aren’t you? I believe I should inform you about this.”
“What does you imply, exactly? She is free from what?”
“It is likely to be preferable to discuss it with your dad. And now,” Bash remarked, effortlessly snatching my frail figure upward into his grasp, “I suppose you should leave because you’re causing her a mental breakdown.”
As Bash scooped me up, my eyes opened in terror. No, by doing this he was about to be killed by Benjamin. He didn’t permit anyone to interact with me in that way. He might kill me as well.
I observed Benjamin in fright, who as expected moved ahead and stopped Bash and I before leaving. He straightened himself up like going to confront Bash at that moment he touching me.
Although Benjamin was not in a true relationship with me, I am certain that in the previous life, he had some desire to control me. Throughout our relationship, he maintained me by imprisoning and destroying other connections that I was trying to form among people of honor.
So, watching another person carrying me in that way would definitely make him furious.

However, what is he going to do currently? If it is the old Benjamin of my previous life, Bash will undoubtedly be murdered or put in jail by this point if he wasn’t from an alliance’s Pack.
Since I don’t know him closely at this stage of life, I had to believe that the man is still similar.
It appeared quite weird to observe the two standing together. Both of them were just teenagers, but they already had the height and physique of the Alphas you can think of. I struggled to imagine exactly when a quarrel might appear among them.
Through prior encounters, I was aware that Benjamin was unique among those soldiers on the field of battle. He became utterly unbeatable when he ascends up to authority, identical to his Alpha father. Nevertheless, I was forced to admit that Bash was still strong even with no completely–developed shifting powers. Considering every aspect of his experience, his actions are frightfully deadly.
“You didn’t intend to begin a war with me while I am having this panic attack girl in my arms, did you?” Bash stated while gently tilting his brow to mock Benjamin.
“We should accept that returning her to a medical facility is the most appropriate course of action regarding her condition for the time being, right? She ends up getting to leave bed early since your Alpha demanded a meeting for us. Would it be better if I go to your Alpha and inquire about the reason behind it. You know, about why the child of the Beta is not getting access to health care in time.”
After several additional chilly times of staring and reconsideration, Benjamin eventually relaxed, reluctantly moved back to let Bash take me away.
While they passed each other, Benjamin’s flaming and outraged

stare meet Bash’s cool and inscrutable look.
I didn’t start to feel my muscles rest unless the entrance of the conference room eventually closes behind us. I continued to feel tense since I know Benjamin was close by and may show up during any moment, but getting Bash by my side gave me some comfort.
Benjamin wasn’t ready to openly initiate something that may obviously harm the pack’s power relations. He wasn’t already an Alpha anyway.
“Is it too much about ‘I’m the fucking potential Luna of this pack‘, huh?” Bash stated in amusement, in an attempt to paraphrase what I have shared with him shortly prior to Ava being assaulted.
I was aware that he was making an effort to cheer me up as well as divert my attention, however on the psychological level, I was powerless and completely devastated.
I have been trying desperately to change this moment, but I continued to be frail and burdened by images of my death that probably won’t completely escape me.
Benjamin had entire control over me, making me helpless against everything he intended to achieve from me. Although the Goddess mark can prevent him from openly assaulting me with as much ease today, would such a news incite fury among him which I couldn’t deal with?
And the saddest thing is that I haven’t really learned the true motive behind Benjamin’s act which opposed me that much, other beyond the reality that his heart genuinely adored Isabella.
Since I have no idea what my actions have performed incorrectly, in what way am I supposed to end his animosity against me?

I glance up at Bash, even though my intention was to respond to his humor using a caustic retort, I perform whatever else I feel ready to carry out at the time.
I sobbed and lost it at the end.
“Oh girl, I don’t mean that ” Bash exclaimed, appearing more frustrated since he had unintentionally made me feel worse.
During this time, we had arrived at the building for the pack meetings beyond the hallway, and I felt glad since nobody else will have been able to catch me while in that condition.
Bash approached a sofa and slowly lowered me upon it while squatting in front of me so that we are both at the same height of vision.
“Would you like to explain to me what exactly your issue with Benjamin is?”
Oh, Bash gave me a question that I couldn’t answer.
