Luna Reborn by Juliet Swanson Chapter 10

Chapter 10
In my previous life, I had always felt everything was only. about life or death. So, we struggled for power and everything became serious. We had battled on other territories for many years to be at this point of life. Sometimes, I felt guilty upon thinking my contributions on those battles. I used to strategized a way of victory to stole Benjamin’s attention. But now, everything seemed peaceful this time. These people didn’t experience Benjamin’s desire for power yet.
An old building flashed to my eyes as we passed the street corner. There was a heritage site there with gray white stone walls in ivory. The building was in a vast green field.
Seven years had passed since I was here. Yet, my school’s gates today opened widely greeted me back we as if nothing had changed.
The building was precisely the same as my memories. The last moment I saw this place was three years later from now. Since our pack had the kind of luxury, so the school consisted of werewolves only. In fact, our whole territory was secret and safe because it was unknown to humans.
I walked forward and I saw a bunch of kids who were talking and ignoring my presence like nothing ever happened before. However, this didn’t make me bothered because the school had always been like this. Since the assumption of becoming a future Luna had known too many people, the kids usually hated or were too freaked out to me. I was okay with it since got busy with studies besides of making an effort to be in that

social part.

Afterwards, I walked straight up full of confidence to the main building. But, I realized that I had no idea where was my direction. I had forgotten my locker was, especially my classes. I don’t think it was feasible for anyone to remember that sort of thing from ten years ago.
In the next second, I pulled out my school notes from the backpack awkwardly to see my daily schedule. Finally, I got it. I had four subjects today: History, Math, Lore and English. Well, it was pretty easy. Since I had been through this past before, I thought I didn’t need to struggle hard with the assignments and homework later.
The first bell ran out suddenly. It snapped me back to reality and I got my feet towards the first classroom.
Fortunately, I only got lost one time on my way. However, I got stares a lot than I remembered before. I actually didn’t care or bother about all of their thoughts. But, the fact that they had all ditched me and even laughed at my death so easily was the hard one for me. So, I had no time to impress them at all. Their stares itself had make me beyond uncomfortable.
I walked past bunch of students while heading inside the class. Finally, I got an empty seat at the back near the window. I definitely already knew about all of the stuff that the teachers would teach me. So, I put my attention to focus on the menial subject.
However, this would draw a lot of stares rather than before. They would label me as a strange girl if I willingly sat in the back row since I used to be diligently sat at the front one.

But, a voice broke my reverie before I could think much, “Who is dead?”
There was someone asking to me. In the next second, my heart burst painfully as the question triggered a trauma inside me. I was stunned upon seeing Jacob.
However, I wasn’t just him. My sight flickered for a while and I saw the trial grounds and the cold moonlight night. The next thing, I saw Jacob stood at the podium while condemning me with his fake proofs of Isabella. I then saw my own death.
‘This is not real,‘ my mind kept repeating those words like a mantra so that I could detach from my vision.
In a blink of an eye, I was in a classroom again instantly and sat before a teenage boy. He was just a stupid boy and not the one who testified in my murder trial or advocated for my death. Even though it was just for a while, it felt like an eternity.
I noticed the boy was staring down and apparently he gazed at my dress.
However, I realized that he was just annoyed about my choice to be in all–black today and felt relieved a little bit. But, I felt strange upon thinking that he might actually remember my death.
I honestly had entirely forgotten about the fact that Jacob and I were in the same grade. But, I didn’t even remember as well that he had spoken to me in the past besides of
professional matters, ‘Is it because of the change of clothes today? Is he trying to bully me or something?‘
Jacob was renowned in the school due to his rank. But, it

Even I couldn’t help to feel bitter about his age. I was a fit of anger due to the injustice that Jacob hadn’t committed yet in the future. I was definitely mad. Hence, I took a very deep breath and turned to face him while calming myself.  “I was in mourning, Jacob. But, I know there is no need anymore.” I stared at him deadly while saying this, “There you go. I thought that your sense of humour had already gone some time ago. But, here it is! Truly a miracle from the Goddess.”  The entire class was silent for a moment upon hearing Jacob. They seemed to be stunned and shocked. These people didn’t even move and had no idea how to respond. However,  someone suddenly burst into laughter and so all of the class joined in.  Afterwards, everyone became quiet as the teacher came in. However, I barely paid any attention to the class and stared out the window. I immediately stood up ad grabbed my backpack after the bell which showed the end of the class rang. I left the class quickly with no further talk. However, I noticed the weary look from Jacob as I walked by his desk.  It turned out that I had become the topic of the school.  I knew this once I stood in the lunch line. I usually brought a meal from home so I barely walked to the cafeteria. But, I had left it at home this morning and forgot that I needed that one I used to have someone delivering me meals in my office every day.  4/7  O  Chapter 10  1288 Wonde  Surprisingly, there were a lot of smaller details in the past and I needed to be cautious about that from now on.  When I was about at the front row, I heard a conversation of several people between two girls. I heard they mentioned my name so my attention was drawn to it.  The first girl asked in a low voice, “Did you see Winona today?”  “I didn’t. Why?” her friend replied.  “Hush your mouth. She is near us at the back. Don’t talk too loud. She used to wear those girly flowery dresses every day trying to attract Ben. But she is wearing a black outfit today.Don’t you think it is weird?”  “Well, you are right. But, do you know what is more insane about her? It is not the first time she has been talked about today,” the second girl answered.  “I knew it. My friend said Winona spoke today in the History class. But, she wasn’t answering the teacher. She talked to Jacob before the class started.”  “Are you kidding me?”  “I mean it. Plus, do you know what? She made a joke.”  As I got to the front of the queue, I didn’t want to hear anymore. Afterwards, I was grateful because I had an excuse to leave quickly. I then grabbed an apple and left directly to the library. Somehow, I didn’t know why but I felt no hungry anymore.  I’d never realized my behaviour would draw the attention of a  5/7  <  Chapter 10  11 288 Vouchers  lot of people. I kept to myself already mostly due to my studies. Plus, anyone didn’t really want to make an effort to  talk to me either.  I felt different today as well. I thought that people were noticing me more all of a sudden in the moment when I was used to being ignored.  Did these simple things like changing clothes and a sarcastic remark in class have already changed something in the past?  I remembered the direction of the library very well. I knew the free desk in the back corner there. So, I always sat there every day. I pulled out my notes and pen after walking directly to that seat. I also took several bites of apple along my way. had to go somewhere private and rearrange my mind.  All right then. What did I know after this? Something terrible will likely happen after my death. But, there are no specific details about it.  The Goddess only mentioned that the werewolves would fall when I die. So, what was the fault here that could wipe out an entire species?  I shook my head and reminded myself to focus on the unknown things. For example, the causes of my death.  There were three things here: Benjamin, my Luna position, and last but not least, Isabella.  I ignored Sebastian because I don’t think he was the direct cause of my death.  The Goddess said to me that my mate couldn’t be changed because it would rewrite my whole identity as the effect.  6/7  11  However, she didn’t mention anything about the acceptance of Luna let alone that relationship. It was simply the fate that she had already chosen for me. But, she mentioned as well that I could choose my own destiny.  That meant that I could reject Benjamin and Luna’s position from the beginning, right?  But, how I could explain I didn’t want this Luna position or even be with my mate?  Fortunately, I still had four years until my coming of age in which the announcement of Benjamin as my mate would be revealed. Afterwards, it would be another year before his father passed away and both of us became Alpha and Luna.  This meant I had to find a way for escaping that result before it happened in my eyes.  If my memory serves me right, Benjamin would be on an exchange trip to an ally pack at his sixteen. It was common, as the future heirs, to spend a year learning how to be independent. But, it didn’t mean that I had one year as well before I see Benjamin again. Honestly, I wasn’t ready as well to face him in the meantime emotionally.  The sound of a blade crashing on my neck was still fresh in my mind and it kept repeating there over and over again.  My biggest threat now was Isabella.
