Chapter 6
Winona’s POV
The prison cell began to get progressively chilly as the night. closed in. I sank to the floor and curled up into a ball because I was without any other clothing and there weren’t any
blankets nearby.
He didn’t give any further explanation, so I was not sure what he meant when he merely said that. He retreated into a shadowy area and stood back to observe me.
resisted the impulse to fall asleep as I sensed his aura enveloping and comforting me, reducing my sense of isolation. Additionally, it calmed my soul, acting as a balm to lessen the hurt of rejection. I wasn’t sure why he was
consoling me, but I was genuinely appreciative. It made it easier to sleep through the night.
I once more awoke to find Sebastian’s aura gone.
“Sebastian? Are you still there?” questioned, my voice being heard above the din.
Nobody responded.
The only sounds were coming from a great distance away. When the moon was full, I heard a wolf howl, and I noticed that Mia was getting upset in my thoughts.
I took a position and cautiously inspected the jail cell, prepared for any threat.

“Winona,” a woman’s voice called out, and it resonated in my ears. I noticed she was directly behind me.
“Who’s there?” I quickly turned around, but nobody was following me. “Where are you?”
Another voice could be heard. She appeared to be standing to my left this time..
“I’m right next to you, yet I’m also hundreds of miles away. Every day and night, I am with you, and I am always present.”
“Who are you?” I asked once again.
I could feel my heart begin to beat quickly as my panic grew. I wasn’t usually terrified of anything, so it seemed odd. I had believed that I was capable of handling any scenario, but at that precise moment, my wolf and I were both terrified.
The speaker chuckled, “It isn’t important who I am, my child.”
Her next few words, however, caused a complete shift in tone. “I’ve come to assist you because I understand your suffering.”
“I… I don’t need your support. There is no threat to me that I can no longer be a Luna,” I answered as my brain suddenly erupted in pain, and I nearly collapsed to the ground. It seemed like someone was attempting to rip my soul apart; it was so painful.
“Don’t strive, my child. Keep calm. Just breathe.”
As she instructed, I let go and relaxed, taking deep breaths in and out as bizarre visions began to materialize before my very
eyes.

executioner stabbed me in the chest with a silver dagger. The moment I hit the ground, blood was all over it.
“No!” I yelled. I extended my hand to try to banish the vision.
“Winona, don’t fight back. I promised to help you, as I said. Your fate and future were just revealed to you,” the voice said. I at once recognized her as the moon Goddess.
But that was impossible, “No, it can’t be!”
I made an effort to close my eyes in order to ignore the suffering and the mental images. “Ben won’t harm me at all! According to the law, he must look into everything, and once the investigation is done, everyone will know that I am innocent!”
“You don’t have to tell me anything, kid. I’m the goddess and can sense your internal suffering,” she added. “If he were to murder you tomorrow, you would die and have no chance. I can now assist you in leaving.”
“No. No… I’m sorry. Everyone will believe that I actually betrayed them at that point. That was not anything I did.”
In agony, I shook my head. “If you are the Goddess, you should know that Benjamin was chosen as my mate, you should let him trust and protect me!
“I’m sorry my kid, but I’m unable to do this. It’s my
responsibility to put those questions to you, and it’s up to you to decide how to respond. None of you can be coerced by me. But I still feel guilty about it so will you accept my assistance now?” she asked again while taking me hand slightly.
“No. Because I did nothing wrong, he cannot murder me. I’m

going to hold out until he apologize and lets me leave.” I objected and pulled my hand away from hers.
The Moon Goddess gave a soft sigh.
“My child, you should not be so stubborn… Then say my name when you need it.” After saying those words, she vanished.
My eyes snapped open and I sat straight up immediately.
My clothes were damp with sweat, and I struggled to keep my breathing steady. I felt my heart beating abnormally fast, and I could smell blood.
Had all that been a dream? Or was it all real? Is Ben going to kill me?
They couldn’t do that because I didn’t desert them. This was justice.
“Are you okay?” Sebastian’s voice immediately shouted out from across the prison as he noticed my frightened state.
I sputtered, “Yes,” and took a deep breath.
In my head, what the Moon Goddess had spoken kept repeating itself like a broken record. But before I could regain my composure and quiet my racing mind, I heard footsteps. The prison cell was being approached by someone.
Four young warriors unlocked the prison cell door as I hastily stood up. They wore armor bearing a wolf’s head emblem, which meant that they served only Alpha Benjamin and were his personal guardians.
“The Alpha has instructed us to strengthen the chains of the devil. Lead the way, you bitch.” Their leader spat at me and

shoved me forcefully out of my cell. The prison was a maze to anyone who wasn’t familiar with it.
I glared at them and said, “Don’t touch me,” I made an attempt to intimate the guards by releasing my aura, but I was too weak.
“Oh, bitch, please.” The senior guard grinned. “The Alpha has rejected you. You have changed from Luna. You have no obligation to force us hear anything you have to say!”
I was forced to the ground by the other guards, who had ominous expressions on their faces, who pulled at my collar and shackles. The tiny stones on the ground sliced into my skin, causing my knees to scream in pain. My stomach was kicked by one of the guards, and I cried out in agony.
“Do you want me to stop? Shut your fucking mouth and show us the way.”He yelled, showing his disdain for me through his fierce face.
I gritted my teeth and endured the discomfort. I spoke with what little strength I had while weakly pointing down the hallway. “Turn left, then proceed straight down. That is where you can find him.”
Three of them went away, and the one who beat me came
over to me.
“And, the execution site is prepared for you, Luna.” The way he called me Luna made me feel horrible and sick.
I suddenly remember the Goddess’s instruction and know what should I do.
