Chapter 80
Clair
As soon as the car halted to a stop in front of the packhouse, I saw Aaron jump from his seat at the steps in front of the house and rush towards the passenger side, opening the door abruptly.
I automatically flung my arms around him as he scooped me up for a tight embrace, my feet left the ground while he swung us around.
“dairy! You’re here!!!” His hug was so tight almost suffocating but I would never complain, not anymore, not after the separation.
“I missed you, Aaron!” I shrieked with happiness. “You did?” He put me back on my feet and pulled away from the hug but his arms were still around me. “Goddess! You reeked of the Alpha! You can’t even wait to get home?” His nose scrunched up, feigning a gag but a mischievous smile crept on his mouth.
“Once you found your mate, try saying that again to your sister! And let me know if you can keep your hands off your mate.” A loud voice came around and I heard people snickered and laugh around us with my brother feigning a gag while my cheeks started to heat up in embarra*s*sment.
“Yeah yeah, don’t get started with that mate bond spiel I grew up with, Dad!” Aaron rolled his eyes and let me go.
I spun around to face my father. His arms wrapped around mine immediately as I buried my face on his chest. “Dad!” I felt tears start to pool in my eyes. “ You’re safe, Dad.”
He pulled away, his hands on my shoulder looking at me with a confused stare. “I’m safe. You’re the one who was in danger, sweetheart.”
I shook my head and buried my head on his chest again, little sobs filled the air as I tried to explain. “ Alpha Noah said… if I don’t do what he wanted… he would kill you… He had men follow you around. I was scared that once you leave the territory they will harm you.”
An angry growl vibrated behind me, I knew it came from Jake while I felt my father’s body stiffen as he held me closer.
“Sssshh… No harm came to me. And he can never hurt me. Okay?”
“We will talk more about this after Clair had rested. I will not let Noah and Aeon get away with this.” I heard Jake say, and I could feel his angst. I pulled away from my father, smiling at him before walking towards my mate, he automatically pulled me into his arms.
“You’re safe here now. I’m not letting you out of sight anymore.” He whispered at the crown of my head, sending goosebumps all over my body.
The sparks kept growing but I welcomed it, I could never get enough of this.
I was still reveling at the comfort of his touch when I heard my brother’s loud voice, my head automatically snapped to him and the Beta.
“What-the-f*uc*k-happened to you, man? I thought it was the Alpha who went against Alpha Aeon?” Aaron’s eyes widened in shock upon seeing the Beta as he emerged out of the backseat of his car. Aaron’ s eyes shifted from the Beta to his Alpha.
All visible wounds on Beta Gavin’s face were closed already but he still has blue and black marks on his face and his half-naked body was covered in a bandage.
“I tripped.” The Beta snickered, his eyes shifted to me and he flashed me a smile that never reached his eyes.
Jake must have felt my discomfort that he started rubbing my arms with his palm. “We’ll tell more tomorrow, but Gavin needed to rest. They wanted him to stay there so he can rest but I’m not leaving my Beta behind. He’s not yet okay. Bring him to the infirmary.”
“No, man. I’m good. I just want my own bed.” The Beta replied.
“No. Infirmary. I want Mara to check you first.” My Alpha stood his ground, referring to the in-house physician we have at the infirmary.
“You know I only follow the Alpha. Come now, warrior!” Aaron chuckled as he pulled Gavin to start walking.
“F*uc*k! Careful man, my arm might fall off soon!” He glared at my brother.
“Beta Gavin!” I called out before they left, he turned his head and looked at me. I smiled weakly, my hands clinging to Jake’s arm. “Thank you…” I said in almost a whisper, just enough for him and the people around us to hear.
“Anytime, Luna.” He winked before turning his attention to my brother as they walked off towards the infirmary.
Once they left, it was only then that I realized that the front of the pack house was surrounded by people.
The former Beta and Gamma females made the first move and rushed forward and hold my hands, relief visible in their eyes.
“Oh, Clair! We’re so happy the Alpha was able to get you back!” Marina, the former Beta Female clasped my hand into hers before hugging me.
Katya, the former Gamma Female did the same after. “Welcome home, Luna!” She whispered softly in my ears.
I swallowed hard as I lifted my eyes to peeked at Jake under my long lashes.
A little embarra*s*sed to be called Luna by the former Gamma Female, did they know we were fated mates?
I wanted to ask my Alpha but he already invaded my head with answers.
‘They know. Just as everyone in the pack knows you’ re mine, princess. So get used to it.1 He smirked, brushing his hair away from his forehead while his other hand was securely placed inside his pant’s pocket.
I felt my cheeks start to burn red as I looked back at the females in front of me. “Thank you. I’m happy to be back here.” I smiled, the words I said speak my truth.

It was almost 4 in the morning and the pack house was still alive with many people around. We transferred from the ground and were now seated at the dining area. Jenny and Chloe came in just a few minutes ago. They were on patrol but went directly here after their shift was over and we were now huddled at the end of the long table.
I slowly turned my head when I felt my neck start to burn and like I thought, I found my Alpha boring stares at me. He was leaning on the counter with a glass of whisky in his hand, but it remained untouched. I smiled lazily at him before turning my attention back to the girls.
‘Stop staring at me, Alpha. You know it’s rude.1 I mind linked him.
‘I just can’t believe you’re here. Are you not tired? I can send them home.1
‘Yes, please. I couldn’t understand what the girls were saying.1
Before I could say more, I heard him move from his positioned and cleared his throat.
“This has been a great evening. Or morning. But I need to send you all home. Clair needs to rest and we all have things to do tomorrow. So… good night everyone. And thank you!” He smiled and motioned with his hand, directing everyone at the door.
The moment he ended, chairs screeched and feet started to scuttered between giggles and stifled laughter. Most of the females around went and gave me a hug before leaving, including Jenny and Chloe. And the men bobbed their heads at me and the Alpha.
Now we were left alone with just Dad, Aaron, former Beta Anthony, and his mate Marina.
Jake went beside me and curled his arm on my waist, pulling me to his side.
“Would you like to stay with me here tonight or do you want your own bed?” He asked in a soft tone which I took offensively.
I didn’t realize that I growled before I spoke. “You said you’re not leaving me alone!” I snapped at him, which elicited laughter from the people around.
Jake paled as he raised his hands in defense while I continued to glare at him. “I didn’t mean you’re sleeping alone. I was just giving you an option if you want us to sleep here or in your bed.”
To which former Anthony added. “Finally, someone who can scare the Alpha.” He chuckled while his mate slapped his chest playfully.
“You’re just as bad as him.” Marina teased his mate.
My breathing started to normalize while my gaze traveled to my father. He was looking at us and I saw a flash of longing in his eyes. He was missing Mom.
I stepped away from Jake and wrapped my arms around Dad and kissed his cheek. “I’ll stay with my mate, Dad. Rest and I’ll visit you tomorrow.”
He nodded and ruffled my hair. “I guess you’ll be staying here for good now. Tomorrow then. Good night, sweetheart. Good night, Alpha.” He bobbed his head to Jake and turned around to walk towards the door and the former Beta couple followed after they said their goodbyes.
Once they left, Aaron shifted in his spot before stepping back towards the door, hands in his pockets.
“I guess I’ll sleep at home tonight. Gavin is not here and I don’t want to be the only one to hear when you banged each other tonight.” He feigned a shiver and laughed before heading out.
“Goodnight Alpha, Luna,” Aaron added as he closed the front door behind him.

Finally, I had my mate alone.
I shut down the main lights of the house before I scooped her up and carried her bridal style towards the bedroom and then on to the bathroom. I
carefully placed her on the sink bank and started to run water on the tub.
It has been a long night and as much as I wanted to bang – Aaron’s words not mine – my mate tonight, it could wait another day. I just wanted her to relax and sleep beside me tonight.
I took a deep satisfied breath before standing in front of her, in between her legs. Her eyes followed my movement as I curled my hand on her back and unzipped her dress and carefully pulled it down.
“I don’t use any scent on the water when I used the tub so I don’t have anything to use for you now. But we can buy it tomorrow, and you can tell me what else you want to have here. I don’t really have much so we might need to buy more things so you’ll be comfortable here.” I told her in a low voice, my finger trailed her bare shoulder before it moved to unclasp her bra.
I swallowed at the sight of her b*reas*t, her nipple stood proud, wanting attention but I tried not to be tempted, not tonight.
“I got everything I wanted in here.” She replied softly, her eyes beamed with happiness as she bit her lower lip.
“Clair…” My voice came out raspy. I felt my d*ic*k twitched inside my pants and before I could restrain myself, my temptress mate had already crushed her lips on mine, her legs wrapped around my hips.
I coiled my hand on her neck and kissed her back, my other hand slid on her bottom and lifted her. She let go of her legs on my hips, letting her dress fall on the floor before wrapping them around me again.
I carefully placed her on the tub and pulled away from her. She growled and bared her teeth on me, not liking the distance. I chuckled as I pulled off my shirt and my pants including my boxers, with my c* *k springing forward.
My little mate gasped with lust in her eyes as she stare at my manhood, following my movement as I slid behind her on the tub.
She wiggled her a*s*s, slipped off her underwear, and threw it on the floor before positioning herself comfortably in between my legs, my hardness pressing against her back.

Promises I intended to keep for as long as I live.

“I love you, Jake.” She whispered before she let sleep take over her.
She said the words I’ve been wanting to tell her but didn’t have the courage to say.
I closed my eyes and held her tighter, reveling at this moment that I finally have the woman I loved in my arms. I would let no one take her away again. “I love you, Clair,” I whispered back not caring if she doesn’t hear me now.
And I promised myself, starting today, I would tell her how I feel about her that she would no longer doubt where she stands in my life.
