Alpha’s Virgin Wife Chapter 218

Alpha’s Virgin Wife by Baby Charlene

Chapter 218 Their Regrets

The King’s heart stopped beating for a while, his eyes fixed on the rider in black. He couldn’t find his words, couldn’t catch his next breath.

How could that be Shilah? Was it even possible?

Her eyes were painted in shades of black and held so much rage and coupled with her dark hair, black cloak, black boots and black horse, she looked just like a villain.

For some reasons, he wanted to believe he was just mistaken and wasn’t seeing Shilah because there was no way his harmless Shilah that went missing two months ago would return, looking that way. Who was she?

The entire crowd was held in suspension as they all dazzled at the strange lady riding in. Finally, she screeched the horse to a halt, just a few feet from Dakota, but she didn’t even look at him. Instead, she glared at Ryder on the ground who had the most confusing look on his face.

Then, looking up at the crowd, she yelled: “There shall be no FIGHT here today!!!” Her voice echoed with so much venom, increasing the King’s awe.

“NO BLOOD SHALL BE SPILLED ON THIS LAND!”

The crowd was still in shock and could only mumble amongst themselves. Mounted on her horse, she looked so fearless.

The elders – seated at the front row – exchanged addled words and glances at each other before finally, one of them stood up.

“What nonsense is this? Who do you think you are to interrupt such gathering?” He snapped, dressed like a judge.

Shilah’s eyes had already moved to him and grew colder. She climbed down from her horse, took some steps closer and stood in front of their direction. And stretching out her hand, the elder found himself groaning and falling on his knees.

“Call me nonsense one more time and I’ll make sure it’s the last word you ever say” she gritted, some tiny veins crawling up her eyes.

“I am not here to bargain”, she looked at the crowd. “I am stating the fact and if I say there shall no Fight today, then shall be none. And if anyone has a problem with it, YOU COME OUT AND FACE ME!!” She hit her chest as she turned around so everyone could see it.

The whole time, she wasn’t looking at the King.

The crowd from the high position they sat, looked down at the lady in befuddlement. A lot of them from Wind Walker Mountain could swear she looked familiar, but they just couldn’t remember …or recognize. Lord Ryder was already on his feet.

“Who are you?” Another elder stood up and asked, this time around, making sure his voice was less offensive than the first. “We need to know your ident*ity and why you think you can disrespect the law”.

With a hateful grin, Shilah pulled down the hood from her hair. “Because I am Shilah – daughter of the fallen witch, Ayita, and the missing VampLord – Achlys” She c*oc*ked her head to Ryder.

A wild gasp left the crowd – especially from those that were beginning to recognize her.

“It’s Queen Shilah!”

“It’s the Alpha King’s wife!”

“She’s the one!”

“What? She’s the child from that story? Is that even possible?”

King Dakota’s head was spinning, his thoughts had been confirmed. But, how was it even possible? How could that be Shilah? His Shilah?

“This is outrageous!” Another elder sprang up. “How dare you just show up and claim what you’re not? How dare you interrupt a meeting that has been ordained by the elders?! Guards!! Where are the guards? Seize her and have her locked up!”

Immediately, a large number of guards started running towards her, but Shilah’s eyes didn’t leave the elder’s face. The moment the guards got close enough, an unforeseen wind howled around and blew them off their feet. In unison, they grunted far away, to the ground. The shock on the people’s face increased.

“With just a flip of my finger”, Shilah said. “I can set this entire theater on fire and everyone of you would burn to death. Like I earlier said, I am not here to bargain, but to state the fact. I am Ayita and Achlys daughter, thus, an hybrid. And I’m telling you – this man here is not worthy to take leadership!” She pointed angrily at Ryder who’s eyes were nearly bulging out.

“Why don’t you tell them how you stabbed your former Lord and had him locked up in a coffin?” She rasped, ignoring the uncontrolled mutters from the crowd.

“Why don’t you tell them how much of a betrayer you are for stabbing Lord Achlys just so you could take his place? Tell everyone this fight was your idea in the first place! You held a meeting with the six Lords, brought up the idea and polluted their mind into accepting it! And right there on your palms, you hold a deadly powder that is poisonous to wolves and intend using it to defeat the Alpha King!”

“What?!”

“Could this be true?!”

“He’s responsible for Lord Achlys absent?” The crowd marveled.

“You, Ryder”, she went on “are not worthy to ever be a leader. I saw it all before it even happened and today marks the end of your reign!”

It took Ryder a while to find his words.

“What…. what nonsense is this?” He stuttered. “How can you come out here in the open, attack and lay such accusations against me?” Chickily, he turned to the crowd.

“She’s nothing but a liar! Don’t you see? She’s the Alpha King’s wife and only fighting in his favour. She knows the Vampires would win, that’s the reason she comes up with these stupid a*s*sumptions…!”

Instantly, he felt an indescribable pain at his abdomen – one that made him shriek and fall on his knees.

His hand moved up to his belly, gripping to so tight like it was going to rip apart. He couldn’t control it, couldn’t fight it.

Then Shilah, pulling out a knife from her boots, marched towards him and placed it on his neck. It was funny how nobody could stop her. All the guards had lost the courage to go after a lady they were sure they wouldn’t get close to.

“You feel your system, rumbling, don’t you?” She whispered into Ryder’s ears. “It feels like your intestines are intertwining, crawling up to your chest and trying to make it’s way out of your mouth. That is me, trying to k*il*l you. And if I stop it for one second but you end up lying to me again, I’ll make it resume in a more painful way – it’d k*il*l you in seconds. Do you understand?” And feebly, Lord Ryder could only nod.

“When we’re done from here, you’re taking me to my father. You’ll release him and after that, I’ll let him decide the best death for you”, she snarled and pushed him to the ground, making the pains stop.

“Lord Ryder” One of the elders called. “Is she telling the truth? Do you really have a hand in Lord Achlys disappearance?”

“He must not be addressed as a LORD from this moment!” Shilah yelled. “He is nothing but a murderer and doesn’t deserve to be called one”.

“And as for the rest of you”, She turned round to the crowd. “The Vampires in our midst, you’re nothing but greedy and ungrateful people!! I must say I am ashamed of this foolish act of yours! Why would you want this fight? This confusion? The Alpha King has never been partial to you! He never puts the wolves before you! Your problems are his problems and he makes sure to always provide a solution! Do you know how many sleepless nights he gets? How much he’s always bothered? The sacrifices he makes? It is something only a true and selfless leader would do. For years, you sang his praises, admired his hardwork. But, when a murderer shows up and says little words to you, you turn against him! Today, you’re seated here to watch the fight of a man you call your King! You sit here and cheer, eager to watch who would win and lose. How shameless can you be? How ungrateful can you be?!”

The silence that ran through the crowd was like none that could never be imagined. At that moment, even a pin drop could be heard. The faces of the Vampires were looking all sullen.

Finally, Shilah turned to Dakota. She looked into his eyes for some seconds before bowing her head.

“King Dakota, I deeply apologize for my people’s foolishness and request your forgiveness. I hope it’s not too much to ask”.

The King’s head was spinning in front of him, staring at the fearless lady that was actually his wife. He still couldn’t believe it, couldn’t believe she was the same naive Shilah he’d known months ago. It was strange…

His attention was driven from her and gripped by the rest of the Vampires from the crowd who had gone on their knees, head bowed.

“Forgive us, Alpha King!”

“Have mercy!”

“We are deeply sorry!” They chorused in regret, pricking the King’s bemusement.
